You’ve heard of crowdfunding—heck, you might have even backed us on Kickstarter or Indiegogo. But what about Crowdbuilding?
What is “Crowdbuilding”?
“‘Crowdbuilding’ takes things to the next level,” says Nuwa’s founder, Marc Tuinier. “We wanted to place the customer at the heart of product development, so we coined the term ‘Crowdbuilding’ to highlight just how much influence our first customers will have over the future of the Nuwa Pen.”
While Nuwa Pen is in a crowdbuilding phase this year, we’re hitting the supercharge button on development. Though it’s already the smartest digital pen in the world, there’s no better time to take it to the next level than right now. Why? It comes down to simple math: the more users we have taking notes with Nuwa Pen and sharing their feedback, the faster and easier it becomes to refine and improve the product. There’s only so much a company can do without external input.
There have been plenty of examples of this model, perhaps most notably ChatGPT. OpenAI’s LLM soared to its current heights by gathering millions of data points in a short amount of time. While ChatGPT was free to use, users effectively paid with their data. Nuwa is taking the opposite approach because we believe your notes—your big ideas, vulnerable thoughts, personal schedule, and more—are far more valuable than the money in your wallet.
The first 6,000 Nuwa Pen users are located all around the world. They come from diverse backgrounds and professions, but they all share a common goal: finding an easy way to store and organize their handwritten notes digitally. These early adopters will play an integral role in shaping the future of Nuwa Pen technology as it continues to evolve.
How does “Crowdbuilding” work?
The Nuwa Crowdbuilding project will collect user data only with explicit consent and feedback in real-time via a customized feedback form as our first customers document their experiences with the pen. Our Customer Care and Engineering teams will be on hand to ensure that user insights directly contribute to the ongoing refinement of the technology.
There are multiple ways to participate in this Crowdbuilding phase. Perhaps, the most intuitive is through the built-in reporting tools in the app.
We’ve also created two dedicated websites for Crowdbuilding: One provides support to help you optimize your Nuwa Pen experience. The other offers a space to report issues, suggest improvements, and request new features.
You can also share feedback via: two dedicated websites—one for feedback and another for support—our community Discord channel, and the old reliable email, team@nuwapen.com
To do this, we’ve created four communication avenues:
Sounds like a great deal for us—but what’s in it for you?
As a Crowdbuilder, you’ll receive a lifetime subscription to Nuwa Pen, granting you seamless integration with popular note-taking apps available today and those that emerge in the future. Not only that but you’ll have a front row seat to suggest integrations you want. You’ll also gain exclusive insider access to new products and releases before anyone else.
